Runner
Icon Films has an exciting opportunity for a Runner to join the team. As a Runner you will be an integral part of keeping the business operating smoothly, whilst also having an immersive insight to all aspects of television production.
A Runner at Icon Films is required to have a flexible approach to work, and to be a hard worker, willing to do whatever is required of them. You will be paired with a mentor working in your chosen area, who will guide and support you during the early months in your television career.
Runner contracts are initially for 6 months and may be extended for a further 3 months, after which you will be supported to progress into your desired role, whether that’s at Icon Films, with another production company or in another field entirely.
The responsibilities of the Runner include:
Greet all visitors/guests with a professional and welcoming manner and ensure that enquiries are dealt with and that visitors are looked after, in line with the Covid-safe office working protocols
Assist the Building Manager and Operations Manager with maintain Covid-safe standards and follow Covid-safe protocols at all times
Answer the telephone in a professional and welcoming manner, transfer calls and pass on accurate messages
Ensure the office environment is clean and tidy, dishwashers loaded, kitchens tidy and bins emptied
Open the offices at the start of the day and cover Front of House
Report repairs and maintenance issues to the Operations Manager/management company
Deliveries/pick-ups of kit around Bristol and surrounding area by car
Log incoming and outgoing post and arrange couriers/other mailings as required
Support edit teams as required
Support production teams as directed
Design and create posters, fliers, presentations and newsletter pages
Support Icon Films to comply with its Green agenda
Take ownership and ensure all tasks are completed
Act, at all times, as an ambassador for Icon Films
The Runner must have the following skills/qualities:
Full driving licence
Able to work from our offices at College Green in Bristol
Calm under pressure, with a flexible attitude
Persistent and robust
Possessing common sense
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
IT literate
Able to prioritise work, and cope with last minute changes
Collaborative approach
Passion for TV/film and a desire to gain experience in the industry
Desirable skills/qualities:
Graphics/design experience including Photoshop and InDesign
Experience in writing copy

ASSISTANT PRODUCERS
We are looking for experienced ASSISTANT PRODUCERS for an 8×60 Discovery Science returning series.
Candidates must be tenacious in finding strong, compelling stories and have a proven track record in sourcing and clearing hard-to-find archive footage and stills to support those stories. We are looking for solid experience in tracking down contributors, liaising with CGI companies, and working across multiple episodes. A good factual entertainment and science background is preferable. Experience of archive research is essential. The role requires impeccable organisational skills, strong negotiation skills, and ability to work closely with the producer to achieve great results. A positive attitude is a must!
This is currently a remote working position however if/when appropriate we would expect the position to be Bristol based.

EDIT PRODUCER
We are looking for EDIT PRODUCERS for an 8X60 new factual, archive, mystery series for Science Channel. The ideal candidate will have brilliant story-telling credentials, creative flair and the ability to craft an exciting story. US network credits and experience of working on factual/science/history/mystery shows with significant amounts of archive are essential. Candidates must also have solid experience of working on multiple episodes, simultaneously at times.
This is currently a remote working position however if/when appropriate we would expect the position to be Bristol based.

Sizzles Editor
Starting Feb/March, 4 days a week for 3 months with the possibility to extend.
Salary range £650-£750 a week
We are recruiting for a talented development sizzles editor with experience of creating pitch materials for both the US and UK markets. Must have a track record in producing sizzles that have led to commissions.
We want someone with visual flair to cut tasters that have impact across several genres of programming, producing work to a high level that reflects our premium factual output.
Working with development producers and execs you will have a high level of independence and will be motivated, competent, and self-starting, as well as creative.
The right candidate will be able to juggle more than one task and work to deadlines.
Examples of recent work will be requested. Premiere Pro skills required and After Effects experience desirable, InDesign would be a bonus.
Icon Films is Bristol based however the job will be working remotely initially, then moving to the office when possible. Editing hardware and software will be provided.

Senior Dev Researcher/AP
Starting early Feb 2020 for 6 months
We are an internationally established production company creating a broad range of factual content. We are looking for an experienced specialist factual Researcher/Assistant Producer to work in our Development team. You will be passionate about finding new ideas and bringing them to the screen in imaginative and inventive ways.
You will have experience in both production and development for the US and UK markets across a range of factual genres. By drawing upon your knowledge, you will creatively research into and source stories to contribute towards delivering exceptional treatments and tasters. You must have experience of writing treatments and ideally knowledge of InDesign, but enthusiasm, creativity and being a team player are essential!
You may be asked to show previous examples of your work if selected for interview.
